USPS Extends Deadline for Comment on Transformation Plan

Mailers and direct marketers have until Jan. 31 to comment on a plan for the structural change of the postal system, the U.S. Postal Service said yesterday.

The Comprehensive Transformation Plan is to serve as a long-term blueprint for the agency's future. It was requested by Congress and the U.S. comptroller general's office.

The deadline for comment had been Nov. 1 with a final plan to be presented to Congress by the end of the year. After Congress extended the deadline, however, the postal service decided to provide more time for comment. The USPS expects to have a plan to Congress in March.

Marketers can submit comment by e-mail to [email protected] or by mail to Julie S. Moore, Executive Director, Office of Transformation, Strategic Planning, Room 4011, U.S. Postal Service Headquarters, 475 L'Enfant Plaza, SW, Washington, DC 20260-1520.
