*Travelocity Announces Wireless Flight-Booking Service

Travelocity.com yesterday announced a mobile flight-booking service that, according to the firm, allows airline travelers to access 95 percent of the airline seats available.

The wireless capability is available because of Travelocity’s agreements with telecommunications firms AT&T, British Telecom, Nextel and Vodafone. Also making this service possible are deals the travel site signed with wireless hand-held device firms OmniSky and Palm.

Financial terms of the agreements were not announced.

Travelocity, Fort Worth, TX, also has announced a rebooking service available through the aforementioned telecommunications partners. This feature allows travelers who are running early or late for a flight to rebook on a different departure.

While the booking application is currently available, the rebooking feature will debut at the end of this month.
