Top DoubleClick Executive Leaves for Ziff Davis Post

A top DoubleClick Inc. executive is leaving the company — amid restructuring and extensive layoffs — to join the online unit of a major magazine publisher.

Wenda Harris Millard, DoubleClick's executive vice president of global media, Monday will take over the posts of president of Ziff Davis Internet and chief Internet officer at Ziff Davis Media. She also will serve on Ziff Davis Media's board of directors.

Millard was one of the founding members of DoubleClick in 1996. Most recently, she oversaw DoubleClick Media, where she led the unit's 400-person advertising sales operation and managed relationships with Web publishers.

One of DoubleClick's first employees, Millard served as head of domestic media operations and in November was moved to the company's global media practice, reporting to Barry Salzman.

“Ziff Davis Media has the quality brands that deliver value and opportunity to marketers,” Millard said in a statement. “At Ziff Davis Internet, we are going to leverage innovative technology to deliver the most compelling content and effective marketing solutions.”

Millard's departure comes after DoubleClick announced its first major layoffs. The company said that it plans to eliminate about 170 employees in a move aimed at aligning its internal structure under executive changes it announced in November.

In a statement, DoubleClick said it has not found a replacement yet for Millard, but it congratulated her on her new position.

“We congratulate Wenda on her new opportunity and look forward to doing business together in her new role,” the company said.
