Laurene Pignato, director of the brokerage division at list brokerage firm Triangle Marketing Services (TMS), New York, was killed in a traffic accident March 25. She was 42.
Pignato was an industry professional for many years and started her career in circulation at Fawcett Publications and CBS Publications. From 1978 to '81, she learned the basics of the list business while working at AZ Marketing as an assistant account executive in the brokerage division. After that, she worked as an account executive at Walter Karl Co. until 1983.
Before joining TMS in 1995, Pignato was vice president of operations at Fasano & Associates, Los Angeles, and worked on major brokerage accounts such as Spiegel, International Male and Right Start. At TMS she continued her work with International Male and the Advocate and helped develop other major clients such as the Human Rights Campaign, The Rainbow Card and AMFAR.
“I have received many calls from shocked friends and industry colleagues,” said TMS president John Knoebel. “Her work was her life, and she cared passionately about her clients and about her business. She will be greatly missed.”
She is survived by her mother, Rose Pignato; sisters, Rose and Cammie; and brother, Larry, all of Greenwich, CT.
