T-Mobile campaign calls consumers to do a mobile makeover

T-Mobile USA is debuting a new campaign today that is aimed at helping people save money on their wireless service.

The campaign, called “Mobile Makeover,” calls wireless customers to compare the value of their current wireless plan against other carriers.

The TV ad, which stars Catherine Zeta-Jones, calls viewers to get a “Mobile Makeover” and visit T-Mobile retail stores or www.T-Mobile.com for a Mobile Makeover. There, they will be connected to BillShrink, an independent third-party service that provides people with free advice on savings recommendations for everyday bills such as wireless plans, credit cards and gas.

BillShrink analyzes a customer’s wireless usage, the service price, as well as the wireless coverage in their area to provide recommendations on the best value. According to a BillShrink report in January 2009, as many as eight out of 10 people overpay for their wireless service without realizing it.

“Wireless customers need quality cell phone coverage at the best available price so BillShrink helps people easily navigate through millions of wireless plan combinations to provide a personalized recommendation,” said Peter Pham, CEO, BillShrink in a statement.

The first television spot will air tonight during the American Idol season finale on FOX. Online advertising, out-of-home advertising, retail and online video also will promote the Mobile Makeover messaging.
