Personal video recorder company TiVo, San Jose, Ca. is expected to announce today that it will join competitor ReplayTV, television research company Nielsen Media Reasearch, NY, and ASI Entertainment, Glendale, Ca. on an ongoing study of how TiVo affects personal television viewing habits. The study may be of use concerning the continuing use of PVRs as a supplement to video-on-demand services. Both companies are inviting networks, advertisers and programmers to develop new ideas based on the research.
