Rich media marketing services provider TargitInteractive is working with movie studio New Line Cinema to promote the movie “The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring” through instant messaging and e-mail.
“The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring,” which opened Dec. 19, is the first installment of three movies based on J.R.R. Tolkien's “The Lord of the Rings” trilogy.
In addition to using e-mail, the campaign will use TargitInteractive's TINotify Instant Windows instant messaging technology. TargitInteractive also is providing third-party tracking to monitor campaign results.
The company said its TINotify Instant Windows technology is a permission-based push advertising technology that places a marketer's message in a way that cannot be ignored by the customer — on the desktop and on top of any open application.
