The Talbots Inc. last week announced steady double-digit growth in catalog sales results. Second quarter catalog sales up 27 percent to $40.9 million over the same period last year. Catalog sales for first half were up 16 percent to $90.4 million over the six-month period in 1998. The women's apparel retail and mail-order company also announced it will soon launch an integrated marketing print and TV campaign that supports both catalog and retail stores and will launch its e-commerce effort “in time for the holiday selling season,” according to Arnold Zetcher, president/CEO.
