System Requires Key, Password and Voice to Enter Database

Aladdin Knowledge Systems is bundling its eToken security tool with Veritel Corp.'s voice verification system.

EToken uses a password system along with a device the size of a key that allows companies to secure marketing information or other proprietary documents. Veritel's voice recognition software upgrades eToken in such a way that users must use the key, know the password and then have the approved voice to enter a firm's database.

Online publishers and marketing departments can use the package to protect their content from intruders. Application service providers can use it to offer their clients secured Web services.

“About any firm with important marketing information or Web content can apply this technology,” said Matthew Zintel, spokesman for Veritel.

Pricing for Aladdin's upgraded offer was not available. Financial terms between Aladdin and Veritel, both based in Chicago, were not disclosed.
