SunTrust Banks Offers Natural Language Web Service

SunTrust Banks Inc. launched “Ask SunTrust,” a Web-based customer service and navigation system on its Web site at www.suntrust.com, the company said yesterday.

The service, provided by the Jeeves Solutions division of Ask Jeeves Inc., uses customer analytics to learn from questions asked by customers and improve site navigation.

“Jeeves Solutions' services will make it easier for clients to find answers on our Web site,” said Gene Kirby, director of eBusiness at SunTrust Banks, Atlanta.

“They'll also provide us with the ability to analyze the types of questions clients are asking so we can make enhancements to the site and better meet their needs.”

Using natural language technology that can understand, process and respond to users' questions, SunTrust customers can ask questions in plain English and be directed to relevant answers on the company's Web site.
