With London-based WPP Group PLC's imminent takeover of Young & Rubicam, New York, another conglomerate was seeking to return to the negotiation table yesterday, according to published reports.
The New York Times said Young & Rubicam had agreed to a $5.7 billion takeover by WPP, yet The Wall Street Journal said Publicis, based in Paris, made another offer.
Philippe Krakowsky, Young & Rubicam’s vice president of corporate communications, said the agency had no official comment.
