Socketware Upgrades Accucast E-mail Messaging System

Socketware Inc., a provider of Internet messaging software and services, yesterday said that it upgraded its Accucast e-mail marketing system to version 3.

The Atlanta-based company said Accucast v3 provides list sampling and campaign testing. It also provided functionality with AOL Time Warner's America Online service. Users can send AOL subscribers HTML-based e-mail, which can be accurately tracked.

“Previously, the world's largest ISP has been difficult for e-mail marketers to maneuver,” said Michael Pridemore, Socketware's CEO. “With [Accucast], AOL customers will be able to see exactly what was intended, including HTML content. And marketers can track results from these accounts.”

The upgraded system also lets marketers track viral marketing campaigns by letting them see the number of times a specific e-mail is forwarded. It offers integration with external systems such as multiple databases, customer relationship management software and point-of-purchase tools. The company said Accucast prevents e-mail messages from being automatically forwarded to the “bulk mail” folder by incorporating personalized data into the message.

Accucast v3 is available in three configurations: Enterprise, for sending millions of e-mail messages per hour; Accelerator, a Web-hosted version; and Agency, which lets Socketware customers offer their clients customized, targeted e-mail campaigns.
