Snapfish.com Focuses on Film

Online photo company Snapfish.com said Monday that it will focus on a market that finds digital cameras too expensive or intimidating. This came with the firm’s announcement that it would offer free service for photo developing, printing, digitizing and sharing.

While other photo sites concentrate on the digital-only market, Snapfish.com will try to capitalize on the Web viewers that use film cameras, which continue to make up 95 percent of the market. The San Francisco-based firm said it doesn’t expect its market to change for several years.

Snapfish.com pays postage, develops film and makes pictures online-available for viewers who submit film through mail.
