Sharper Image Catalog Hits the Little Screen

Certain DISH Network satellite TV customers can now shop for Sharper Image products using their remote control.

EchoStar Communications Corp., Englewood, CO, the parent company of DISH Network, partnered with San Francisco-based Sharper Image for what EchoStar calls “the nation's first interactive shopping channel.” The service began yesterday.

DISH Network viewers with receivers enabled for interactive TV can access an interactive Sharper Image catalog through the DISH Home channel, choose the items they wish to buy and pay for them with secure credit-card ordering. Currently, select best-selling products are featured on The Sharper Image channel.

Viewers also can access customer service information, see their order history and view products in their shopping basket.

DISH Network has 10 million subscribers whose satellite TV receivers are enabled for interactive TV.
