SearchInform combats plagiarism

SearchInform Technologies Inc. has released PlagiatInform, a tool for identifying plagiarism in documents.

Plagiarism is a really big problem in all educational institutions. Identical or identical segments of term papers, essays and even scientific papers get turned in more than once.

The PlagiatInform is designed to fight plagiarism, and here’s how it works.

It first checks the work being turned in, comparing it to those already in the database. If the percent of plagiarism in the work is low, the work is divided into paragraphs and then gets compared to the database of previously submitted works, also divided into paragraphs. This not only allows the reader to identify the plagiarized extracts, but also to see where exactly they were taken from and what changes have been made.

PlagiatInform’s scalability allows the system to work with large amounts of information. If its capacity is not adequate to process new documents, it can be easily increased without making any changes to the general structure.
