Salestarter.com to Assist Car Dealers With Web Leads

Salestarter.com launched two new products last week in an effort to help generate Web-based leads for automobile dealers. The services promise to offer car dealers the ability to receive pre-qualified Web alerts of sales leads delivered via wireless devices, according to a statement.

Through its Instant Contact product, Salestarter, Detroit, hopes to enable sales representatives to receive leads generated from the dealership's Web site. A dealer would be notified, mostly via wireless application protocol-enabled devices, when a user submits a request.

Upon receiving the alert, which includes the buyer's telephone number, the dealer would be able to act on the lead by punching the send button on their cellular phones.

The wireless-enabled product aims to help dealers follow up on Web-generated leads more quickly, said Michael McBrien, partner at Salestarter.

“If you let one of those leads lay around,” McBrien said, “you lessen your chance to close that deal.”

Salestarter also launched the Instant Web Pre-Approval product, which, along with the buyer's cellular number, provides a dealer with a pre-qualified credit rating on the buyer, McBrien said. The product rates a potential buyer's credit from “A” through “E.”

McBrien said Salestarter, which is currently working with nine dealerships, charges 35 cents per lead.
