Royal Mail Raises Stamp Prices

Royal Mail stamp prices rise by 1 pence to 28 pence for First-Class postage and 20 pence for Second-Class post today.

It is the first rise in three years for First-Class postage, while Second-Class stamps have cost 19 pence since 1993.

Royal Mail also reduces prices on its Mailsort products today, it said, a move that will save UK marketers up to 17 million pounds a year.

Mailsort products are work-sharing services that require a mailer or mailing house to sort mailings within the Mailsort Database and then pass them on to Royal Mail to receive a postage discount. Mailsort represents 35 percent of Royal Mail’s mail volume.
