Royal Mail Names Crozier Chief Executive

The Royal Mail Group appointed Adam Crozier chief executive yesterday.

Crozier takes over from John Roberts, who retires after 35 years of service with Royal Mail, the past seven as chief executive. Crozier was previously chief executive of the Football Association, soccer's governing body in England. He also was a former chief executive of Saatchi and Saatchi Advertising.

Royal Mail also said that Elmar Toime, the current chief executive of New Zealand Post, will become executive deputy chairman of Royal Mail Holdings with group-wide responsibilities across the Royal Mail and Post Office Ltd. divisions. He has been chief executive of New Zealand Post for the past 10 years.

Crozier and Toime will report to Allan Leighton, chairman of Royal Mail Group, and will take up their new roles in February.
