Restoration Hardware opens new distribution center

As part of a planned transformation of its supply chain and infrastructure, Restoration Hardware has signed a 15-year lease for a new distribution center in West Jefferson, OH.

The move will enable the multichannel merchant to phase out a distribution center in Nashville, TN, that is run by a third party.

Construction is expected to begin on the new location this fall and operations to commence next summer. The new facility will have about 800,000 square feet and will be used primarily for fulfillment to the company’s East Coast retail stores and its non-furniture direct business.

Restoration Hardware also operates distribution centers in Hayward and Tracy, CA, and Baltimore, MD.

“Over the next three years, we’ll be executing a sequenced plan to drive greater service and productivity in our supply chain and build a network that can support our long-term growth objectives,” said Ken Dunaj, COO, Restoration Hardware, in a statement.

On the schedule for this year are plans to install a new warehouse management system and enhancements of the company’s sourcing and production management. Future initiatives include a new order management system and the redesign of its furniture delivery network.

Earlier this year, Restoration Hardware, Corte Madera, CA, completed the retrofitting of its furniture distribution centers and consolidated its small-package direct operations.
