*Rate Case Won’t Be Implemented in June, Ward Says

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ–Even though there has been some speculation that the USPS’ Board of Governors may implement new postal rates as early as June, John Ward, vice president of marketing systems at USPS, told a crowd here April 29 that “no way will there be a June implementation date.”

While the Postal Rate Commission will announce its decision by the end of next week, Ward said, “We don’t expect a decision on the case from the Board of Governors until June, which means the earliest we can implement is in July.”
