Rapp names Weigman its first CMO

Omnicom agency Rapp appointed Becca Weigman to the newly created position of CMO, effective August 31.

Reporting to Paul Price, global president at Rapp, she is charged with developing the company’s strategic growth. In addition, she is serving as a brand ambassador and supervising certain client relationships.

“Clients are looking for relationships that can help them be successful,” said Weigman. “Our idea is to help clients impact their entire business and not just their marketing.”

Weigman previously served as managing director of Rapp Dallas, where she worked with a number of agency clients, including Bank of America, Best Buy, Direct Energy and Hyatt.

Jim Lyons, president of Rapp North America, said that “maturation of the brand” was a driver for creating the CMO position.

“If you’re going to be an adult brand, you have to bring more powerful thinking to the table,” he said via e-mail. “We want to play to our people’s strengths and get them involved in clients’ businesses in a more meaningful way.”

Lyons added that with the appointment, Rapp is “getting more power behind our account teams and allowing more collaboration across our offices.”
