EMI Group, London, said yesterday it will pair with U.S. interactive audio company RadioWave.com Inc. to produce branded Internet radio channels.
Chicago-based RadioWave will develop Internet radio channels providing music, biographies and discographies on the back of EMI’s stable of artists with links to music retailers.
RadioWave also said it secured $20.5 million in private financing and agreed to a deal with Susquehanna Radio Corp. to provide the company with new, live broadcaster advertising insertion technology.
EMI brings a large roster of artists to RadioWave, including the Rolling Stones and the Spice Girls. EMI also has plans to merge with AOL Time Warner.
