Texas.Net announced that it will provide disaster-recovery services for QuantumMail.com, an online direct mail provider.
QuantumMail, Austin, TX, will house its Web site, database and application servers at Texas.Net's Internet data center. Texas.Net will host a mirror of QuantumMail's operations and data, updated in real time, to be activated if QuantumMail's main infrastructure fails due to power outages, software failure or other disruptions.
Texas.Net also will provide managed load balancing for traffic to QuantumMail's Web site, boosting its performance, according to Texas.Net. The disaster-recovery system ensures that QuantumMail's online direct mail services are available at all times.
Texas.Net, also based in Austin, is an Internet service provider with about 1,000 corporate clients. It provides managed Internet, enterprise data center and collocation services in addition to disaster recovery.
