Printer Quad/Graphics has bought a majority interest in Openfirst, a direct mail communications provider.
Openfirst, Milwaukee, WI, offers a range of services including targeted direct mail, localized marketing programs and statement and bill processing in the automotive, financial, retail and insurance industries.
The 10-year-old Openfirst is projecting more than $40 million in sales in 2006.
Openfirst’s capabilities complement Sussex, WI-based Quad/Graphics’ direct mail services. It will help Quad/Graphics to offer a broader array of services.
As per the deal, Openfirst will operate as a subsidiary of Quad/Graphics, maintaining its name and facilities as well as management team under president/CEO Robert Kraft. Openfirst has nearly 400 employees who work from production facilities in Milwaukee and Fredericksburg, VA.
