QAS Offers QuickAddress Batch 3.0

Address management software vendor QAS announced yesterday the release of QuickAddress Batch 3.0.

According to QAS, Boston, QuickAddress Batch 3.0 validates addresses in a customer or prospect database against the latest U.S. Postal Service records. Invalid, duplicate or incorrectly formatted addresses are identified and can be separated for verification while clean addresses remain in use. The product also can perform regular cleanups to ensure long-term address data viability.

The latest version of QuickAddress Batch is certified by the USPS and meets the requirements of the Coding Accuracy Support System, which can help companies become eligible for postage savings.

It also produces a report to show how successful it has been in matching the address in the database against the standard USPS address data. It supports Delivery Point Barcodes, which can help save money in mail sorting and handling. The product also can perform bimonthly data cleansing updates.

Maintaining correct addresses can yield significant savings. According to a 2002 USPS and PricewaterhouseCoopers report, 23.6 percent of all mail sent in the United States is incorrectly addressed. The USPS destroys 2 billion pieces of mail yearly due to bad addresses, the report said.
