Profits Up 95 Percent at Big Flower

Advertising and marketing services company Big Flower Holdings Inc., New York, increased its adjusted 1997 net sales 14.5 percent to $1.4 billion, from $1.2 billion in 1996. Adjusted net income for 1997 grew 95.1 percent to $28 million, from $14.4 million in 1996.

Adjusted net sales for the fourth quarter of 1997 rose 17.7 percent to $420.8 million, from $357.6 million in 1996. Adjusted net income for the quarter grew 31.4 percent to $13.5 million, from $10.3 million for the same period in 1996.

The company said the results reflect increased demand for its higher-margin targeted marketing and advertising products, growth in the digital services businesses and several acquisitions made last year.
