Outsourced customer-care firm Precision Response Corp. has purchased Hancock Information Group, a teleservices agency with call centers in central Florida.
Terms of the deal were not released. Hancock, Longwood, FL, operates two centers and employs more than 350 people.
Hancock's client base includes hardware and software firms such as Microsoft, Compaq, Sun Microsystems and Dell. The company's agents have extensive experience in hi-tech appointment setting and lead generation, which will be used to augment Precision Response's outbound teleservices branch, a Precision Response executive said.
Precision Response will align Hancock with Access Direct Inc., a 1,200-employee teleservices agency with six call centers in Iowa that Precision Response bought in November.
Precision Response is a division of USA Networks Inc. USA Networks also operates TicketMaster and the Home Shopping Network.
In total, the company operates 40 call centers with more than 10,000 workstations.
Precision Response handles about 230 million calls each year, employs more than 12,000 people by itself and provides teleservices for British Airways, American Express, AT&T and DirectTV.
