PRC seeks comment on updated USPS service performance measurement plan

The Postal Regulatory Commission (PRC) is seeking public comment on the most recent draft of the US Postal Service’s proposed service performance measurement plan. The plan was published in the Federal Register today.

The plan is a requirement of the Postal Accountability and Enhancement Act. The law states that these standards need to “provide a system of objective external performance measurements for each market-dominant product as a basis for measurement of postal service performance.” However, with the PRC’s approval, an internal measurement system “may be implemented instead of an external system.

Comments on the plan are due to the PRC by July 9, 2008. All feedback will be posted to the PRC’s Web site.
