The Postal Rate Commission hosts a press conference today formally announcing its decision on the latest U.S. Postal Service rate case at the PRC Hearing Room in Washington.
The PRC likely will recommend implementing a 5.4 percent across-the-board rate increase. The USPS Board of Governors, whose approval is needed, is expected to vote to implement the increase.
A Board of Governors meeting is scheduled for today as well, though it is unknown whether the governors will vote on the increase today.
The rates are expected to take effect Monday, Jan. 16.
