Polk Creates New Business Unit for Hi-Tech, Telecommunications

Database marketer The Polk Co., Detroit, launched a business team yesterday dedicated to the hi-tech and telecommunications markets.

Polk assigned a market director, a national sales manager and an account manager for each of the two business categories and named Colin Lippincott vice president of business development to oversee the new division. The 16-year direct marketing veteran most recently was vice president for list products.

Plans call for the group to eventually expand and include other vertical markets.

“Immersing ourselves in the business of hi-tech and telecommunications allows us to serve these critical growth markets in a more knowledgeable and comprehensive way,” said John Healy, Polk's senior vice president of marketing.

The new teams assigned to the hi-tech division included: Elizabeth Blair, market director; Peggy Steinemann, national sales manager; and Nicole Woodard, account manager. Working on the telecommunications business are: Leslie Price, market director; Heather Gresh, national sales manager; and Gary deAragon, account manager.
