A utility representing eight counties in New York will use Axiom Corp.'s Mobility workforce management solution to better allocate service to its 345,000 customers, the Atlanta company said yesterday.
“Our main goal is to improve productivity and customer service by replacing our manual scheduling and dispatching system with one that employs state-of-the-art technology in hardware, networking, database and application software,” said Gary Wright, Central Hudson's manager of information technology. “Their mobile computing solution will provide Central Hudson with the tools necessary to execute, deliver and monitor customer service levels, response times and productivity gains.”
Mobility has three components: Mobile Dispatch, Automatic Vehicle Location and Scheduling & Street Level Routing.
With Mobile Dispatch, dispatchers receive work requests from various applications wirelessly and dispatch the work orders to field service technicians. Automatic Vehicle Location provides real-time, GPS-based vehicle location. Street Level Routing offers features such as real-time crew optimization, street-level routing and emergency response capability.
