NWA's Internet Check-In Goes National

Northwest Airlines will begin offering nationwide Internet check-in to its customers today at www.nwa.com after launching the service in 27 major markets earlier this fall.

The service requires passengers to give their name, confirmation number and a major credit card number. Users then will be asked a series of security questions. Next, passengers will be able to print their boarding pass from their computer.

The service will be available up to 90 minutes prior to departures and requires the customers to present identification at the boarding door. Passengers with luggage can check their bags at a Northwest skycap station at the airport.

According to the airline, 10,000 customers used the service during Thanksgiving weekend.

NWA, Minneapolis, is offering 2,000 frequent-flier miles per round-trip flight for customers that use the Internet check-in. The nationwide launch follows a series of Internet, wireless and kiosk customer service additions made this year.
