NetSuite Finalizes Bronto Acquisition

NetSuite, a leading provider of cloud-based software for operations and customer relations, today announced it had completed the acquisition of Bronto Software.

The purchase of Bronto, a top supplier of email and marketing automation software to Internet sellers, adds breadth to NetSuite’s retail offering. The company says its SuiteCommerce solution is used by thousands of brands to drive strategies across point-of-sale, e-commerce, and call centers.

“The industry’s leading commerce marketing system has been combined with the world’s number one cloud-based omnichannel commerce platform, bringing transformational power to businesses,” said Andy Lloyd, NetSuite’s GM of commerce products, in a statement announcing consummation of the deal.

NetSuite launched in 1998 as a web-hosted accounting software provider with an estimated $125 million investment from Oracle founder Larry Ellison. Its move into e-commerce was fueled by acquisitions of Retail Anywhere in 2013 and Venda in 2014. Ellison and family members currently own an estimated 48% of NetSuite common stock.
