Net-A-Porter to launch men’s site in 2011

Online retailer Net-A-Porter will launch a male counterpart to its 10-year-old women’s luxury site in January. Named “Mr. Porter,” the e-commerce portal will sell clothes from high-end brands including Ralph Lauren, Burberry and YSL.

Mr. Porter will also feature editorial content, style advice and same-day delivery in New York and London, in addition to selling men’s clothing.

“We have a ready-made customer base for our men’s business; 100% of Net-A-Porter customers have a man in their lives in some capacity, and 59% of them are married or living with their partners,” said Natalie Massenet, the company’s founder, in a statement.

Swiss luxury retailer Richemont acquired full control of Net-A-Porter for $533 million two months ago.

A Net-A-Porter representative could not be immediately reached for comment.
