Napster.com on yesterday appealed a federal judge’s decision to pull the plug on the popular music portal that allows users to exchange music online.
After taking just two hours to order an injunction that would shut the Web site down at midnight Pacific time tonight, U.S. District Judge Marilyn Hall Patel told Napster defense attorney David Boies, “that’s their problem, they created this monster, for want of a better word.”
In a prepared statement, Napster CEO Hank Barry said, “Although we strongly and firmly disagree with the judge’s decision, we will comply with that decision if it is not stayed.”
