MyPoints.com Removes the Wires

MyPoints.com, San Francisco, yesterday officially launched its wireless platform, MyPoints Anywhere. This service allows the loyalty marketer’s 15 million consumers to earn points by answering surveys, responding to e-mail and shopping via their cellular phones, Palm VII and other devices.

This is the latest in the company’s efforts in the offline loyalty marketing world. As an indication of its dedication to pursuing offline endeavors, the company announced its MyPoints Offline Services division this summer. The company has struck agreements with several traditional companies, bringing its loyalty currency to chains such as Albertson’s, The Kroger Co. and Staples.

It also has launched MyPoints Dining, which allows members to earn points by eating at restaurants in the Transmedia network.

The technology for MyPoints Anywhere was developed by Clickmarks, Fremont, CA. MyPoints also said it has made a strategic investment in Clickmarks but did not quantify the terms of the deal.
