MyComputer.com Ditches Free Web Tracking Service

MyComputer.com recently abandoned its advertising-based free Web tracking services and began offering paid subscriptions exclusively.

The firm had been offering a mixture of free and paid e-business services.

“Ad sales were booming when we started the [free] service,” said Nicole Stanger, manager of online sales at MyComputer.com, Orem, UT. “As the climate changed, the chances of getting a respectable [cost per thousand] dwindled.”

The 4-year-old Web firm offers basic and premium versions of its Super Stats suite of services. The basic package offers real-time Internet traffic reports for $9.95 a month or $99.95 annually.

The premium package includes e-commerce transaction reports in addition to site tracking and costs $99.95 per month or $990 a year. Variations of the packages also exist, and pricing depends largely on the number of page views a site gets.

MyComputer.com also offers search engine, guest book and viewer poll applications. Interested firms can get those features as well as the Super Stats package at www.mycomputer.com. Clients log in at the site to use the services.
