Online advertising network Miva Inc. is delivering pay-per-click ads to AnchorFree, which claims to be the world ‘s largest free Wi-Fi community.
AnchorFree will be employing Miva ads on its Wi-Fi security VPN product Web page and on the AnchorFree Rewards-Bar.
“Relating to this specific deal, our strategy was to provide AnchorFree with a way support it’s free Wi-Fi services by monetizing specific consumer applications through Miva pay-per-click ads, said Chrysi Philalithes, vice president of marketing and communications at Miva, New York.
Ads will be displayed to monetize each of these products.
Both are free to the consumer and ad supported.
When users access a Wi-Fi hot spot, Miva pay-per-click ads will appear on an introductory Web page that provides information on AnchorFree’s Wi-Fi security VPN product.
Miva pay-per-click ads also will appear as text-based links on AnchorFree’s Reward’s Bar, a tool bar application that allows users to find products and services and at the same time earn rewards points when purchases are made.
In addition the companies will be expanding their relations in the future through the development of an AnchorFree one-click, Wi-Fi access button for customized toolbars.
The button will be available to publishers who have their own-branded toolbar created by Miva. This will deliver each toolbar user one-click access to AnchorFree’s network of Wi-Fi “hot-spots” around the globe.
“Many providers lack the flexibility and customization that Miva offers,” Ms. Philalithes said. “Miva created a pay-per-click implementation that provides relevant ads for users, while maintaining AnchorFree’s branding.”
