Marketing Services Group Inc. has officially changed its name to MKTG Services Inc.
According to a letter the firm sent to clients in March, the name change was the next step after spending much of last year consolidating assets and strengthening traditional services.
In January 2001, MSGi sold e-mail technology firm WiredEmpire and began reviewing strategic options with financial adviser Goldman Sachs to maximize shareholder value. The next month it cut staff and reorganized internally. The following July, MSGi sold Grizzard Communications Group to further stabilize itself.
Additional upcoming changes also were mentioned in the client letter.
The letter, which was from chairman/CEO Jeremy Barbera, said in part, “Over the next several weeks you will notice some positive changes! Our new name, which coincides with our re-branding efforts, will be accompanied by a new corporate identity, new logo, additional trade show participation, as well as targeted advertising campaigns for each of our services. We will also consolidate Web sites and utilize www.mktgservices.com as our sole Internet address.”
