Marketing Database Associates Inc., Boston, a business-to-business database management firm, last month launched mda-energynet.com, an e-commerce service that enables utilities and other energy service providers to offer customers online transaction capabilities directly from their existing corporate Web sites.
MDA links the mda-energynet.com e-commerce infrastructure to participating energy company Web sites and customizes content pages to promote locally available commodity and other energy products and services. In addition to processing transactions, mda-energynet.com captures current customer demographic data that can be used to update customer databases and improve the targeting of energy marketing programs.
