Mail Unlimited Buys Direct Response Marketing

Mail Unlimited Inc. announced last week its acquisition of competitor Direct Response Marketing.

The company immediately will operate under the Mail Unlimited name with equipment, physical assets and employees consolidated at Mail Unlimited's facility. Both companies are located in Winter Park, FL.

The acquisition of Direct Response Marketing will let Mail Unlimited support larger clients with increased production capacity.

Mail Unlimited and Direct Response Marketing both offer consultative and production services for mailing catalogs, letters, postcards, self-mailers, newsletters and other forms of targeted communication. The main difference, said Mail Unlimited Vice President Ernest Broennle, is that Direct Response does more work with government clients.

“We had been friendly competitors for a little over ten years, and they approached us as a company with a lot in common, as far as our business, operations, and work environment,” Broennle said.

Mail Unlimited was not looking to buy a company, he said, and had just finished adding 11,000 square feet to its facility in April.

“And this came up,” Broennle said, “allowing us to maximize the facility we had just invested in. We had hoped to get to that point within two years, and this acquisition allows us to accelerate that.”

With the acquisition, Mail Unlimited expects to run two full shifts per day, up from the current 1.5 shifts per day.
