MADD taps Orange Leap for database consolidation

Advocacy group Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) has selected Orange Leap for its fundraising, constituent and database management. Dallas-based Orange Leap will provide software to allow MADD to consolidate its numerous databases and better communicate with supporters.

In addition to its national headquarters in Irving, TX, MADD also has state and city affiliates, all with various databases of constituents and donors, which are now being merged.

Nick Ellinger, VP of strategic outreach for MADD, said 13 MADD field offices have signed on to use the software. The company’s work with Orange Leap is part of a three and a half year strategic plan in which all of the company’s databases will be consolidated including telemarketing, direct mail and other donor lists.

“In today’s economic climate, it’s more critical than ever to know the level of engagement all of the donors want,” he said. “We’re using the Orange Leap system to direct traffic from where it’s going, to where it needs to be.”

Randy McCabe, founder and CEO of Orange Leap said, “In a relatively short period of time — less than three months — MADD was able to have several affiliates download the open-source software, so our technology platform could replace all the different databases they had, without a lengthy RFP process.”

Orange Leap works exclusively with nonprofits and was formerly know as MPower Open. The company rebranded last week to differentiate itself from others in the technology and nonprofit sectors with similar branding.

McCabe said the company works with more than 300 nonprofit organizations around the world including the YWCA of Greater Dallas and the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews.

MADD has more than 400 city affiliates across the country.
