Letter: Our Industry Must Insist on the Highest Standards of Ethics

Congratulations on a great editorial (“No Purchase Necessary,” July 29). I believe Tad Clarke is 100 percent correct that if we in direct marketing “can’t get the little things right, lawmakers may start wondering about the more important ones.”

Given the skepticism with which our industry is generally viewed by the public, it’s especially important that we insist on the highest standards of ethics among all our colleagues. And that goes double for the associations that speak for us.

Thanks for the courageous stance and the plain speaking.
