Lands' End's Summer Splash

Lands' End launched its spring/summer 2005 clothing collection this month, including three new looks.

“Out of the Blue” was inspired by the company's nautical roots as a sailboat equipment merchant and is reminiscent of the casual garb worn during New England shore vacations. The collection features shades of blue with accents of red, green, orange, white, khaki and gray. Stripes in alternating primary colors dominate as key new items include a cotton Drifter sweater, polos, trench coats and button-down shirts. The apparel is designed to be transitional between winter and spring.

“Palm Springs” updates the preppy California resort style of the 1960s, using that look's signature bright pastels, pinks, greens and patterns. The selection includes three-quarter-sleeve blouses for women, bold paisley shirts for men, Madras patchwork fabric jackets and pants and grosgrain belts.

“Harbour Island” showcases the saturated hues of a tropical paradise, including coral, turquoise and fuchsia. Multicolored patterns, paisleys and stripes are featured on sleeveless shirts, blouses and halter-style tops.
