Kodak's Graphic Communications Group Raising Prices

Kodak's Graphic Communications Group said yesterday that rising energy and raw material costs have caused the company to increase its prices.

The company said it plans on a double-digit price increase worldwide for prepress consumables.

The costs have been rising over the course of several years, the company said, and affects digital and conventional offset printing plates, proofing media, film and chemistry. These products are generally purchased by printers or graphic communication firms that have a printing operation.

Details of the new pricing structure are being communicated to customers on a country-by-country basis, according to Beth Hogan Scott, a Kodak spokeswoman.

Ms. Hogan said the amount and timing of the increases would vary by country. She did not offer any additional information.

Kodak's Graphic Communications Group is one of the four strategic business units of Eastman Kodak Company, a Rochester, NY-based imaging technology and color science company.
