Japs-Olson expands use of Kodak Versamark

Printing company Japs-Olson Co. has added two high-speed inkjet printing systems from Kodak Versamark to the one it installed last year. Each is being used for personalizing media insert and direct mailer campaigns of more than 500,000 pieces.

A year ago, Japs-Olson was one of the first companies in the country to install the Kodak Versamark system. Each fully integrated digital printing system is composed of 9-inch print heads that can be positioned for up to 36 inches of image area. With a print resolution of 300 dpi, Kodak Versamark is designed to be an alternative to lasering for large quantity jobs.

Because the system uses proprietary continuous inkjet technology based on water-soluble inks, the throughput is fast and reliable.

“Our clients are tremendously pleased that they are now able to achieve laser-like quality at high inkjet imaging speeds,” said Mike Beddor, CEO of Minneapolis-based Japs-Olson, in a statement.

The Kodak Versamark technology meets a wide range of variable data imaging application needs and works on a variety of paper stocks.
