International Pavilion Not Dead After All

The International Pavilion will return to the Direct Marketing Association's 86th Annual Conference & Exhibition this fall.

The DMA earlier had said the pavilion would not return after surveying exhibitors at last year's show. The number of exhibitors in the pavilion had declined over the past few years as many migrated to the main floor where they felt they received better exposure.

A second survey of exhibitors completed this month showed renewed interest for the pavilion, though it was unknown how many had committed to exhibit.

The DMA reopened the issue after James Thornton, managing director of Mailing Lists (Asia) Ltd. and International Mailings Ltd., asked the association to survey exhibitors a second time. Thornton said eliminating the pavilion would signal that the DMA is no longer interested in supporting international direct marketing activity.

The show is Oct. 12-15 in Orlando, FL.
