Information Today Inc. has completed the acquisition of Cleveland publisher and tradeshow firm Streaming Media Inc. from Penton Media Inc. in an all-stock transaction whose value was not disclosed.
According to a statement, Information Today will now take charge of Streaming Media assets including StreamingMedia.com and an e-mail newsletter, as well as reports on streaming media applications and technology.
The acquisition comes two years after Penton bought Streaming Media, a firm that kicked off tradeshows in 1998. Penton runs the Internet World magazine and a tradeshow of the same name.
Based in Medford, NJ, Information Today owns titles like Information Today, Online, Computers in Libraries, Econtent, Searcher, KMWorld and CRM. Its conferences include InfoToday, KMWorld & Intranets, Computers in Libraries and Internet Librarian.
