Here’s a fantastic visualization of how much money the big tech companies make every second they are operating. The visualization starts generating numbers in real time for Silicon Valley giants such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google, Apple and Samsung.
The first thing that’s apparent is that Twitter’s currently the only company that’s losing money. Everyone else is posting some pretty healthy profits, although the margins of LinkedIn, Facebook and Yahoo are comparatively less.
It’s interesting to note that despite all their hype and massive acquisitions, the social media companies are tiny planets compared to the huge numbers being posted by companies such as Apple, Samsung and Microsoft. Just goes to show that people still like to buy actual things, even if it’s just to run non-things on them.
