IBM Plans India Call Center Buy

IBM Corp. will buy Daksh eServices, one of India's call center providers, in a deal expected to close in May, IBM announced yesterday.

Financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed. IBM said the addition of Daksh would increase its CRM and financial management services capabilities and expand IBM's network of 22 “business transformation delivery centers,” including the addition of assets in India and the Philippines.

According to Daksh's Web site, the company operates five facilities in India, totaling 270,000 square feet of floor space, and 6,000 employees worldwide.
